any recommendations on software to scan a bunch of old photos

Tue Apr 18, 2017 8:30 am

I am looking for recommendations on software to scan a bunch of old photos as quickly and painlessly as possible. something that would let me scan multiple photos at once with the all-in-one printer/scanner/copier that i already own (hp officejet 4620). free would be good, but i am not opposed to buying a good piece of software.

I'm wondering this as well since my wife is currently scanning a lot of old family snapshots into digital files. Scanning software is usually tied to the manufacturer of the printer and has to be compatible with the auto-feeder. Photos are variable in size and thickness and I could see it frequently jamming an auto-feeder.
We're using an HP Inkjet with the flat-top platen without an auto-feeder. So it is painstakingly scanning one at a time.
