USB Type C adapter

Wed Jul 12, 2017 4:41 pm

Hi!
I got a card reader with a USB Type C plug but my laptop has a Type A jack. Finding an adapter for it is proving to be a challenge. Can you recommend one?

If you want to Google for yourself, plug=male and jack=female (think horny young men in WWII). Ancient telephone/radio lingo, but still observed in the industry.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Probably cheaper to get another card reader. :)
And easier to use without adapters.

USB-C is a godsend for cable vendors only. In fact, if it wasn't for TB using the same physical connector, it might have failed to catch on at all.

Can't say I was ever overly bothered with the directionality of previous USB plugs, but I can see the appeal of some USB-C features.
And yet, my very limited experience with C wasn't positive. Perhaps I should start a thread on that...

My experience with c has been great. Although once I did buy a cheap version which the plug was mostly made of plastic and eventually broke. Sup with that garbage. Anyway my Amazon basic version has been very durable.

Micro-B is a pain in the arse to plug in, but in my experience it seems to stay connected better than C.
