My thought would be that it has driver issues, given the Newegg reviews you mentioned.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Heh, given that the market is flooded with a huge range of excellent mice, why would you even want to look at one that is clearly a turd based on reviews?

Take a look at the US$55 Logitech G502 or any of their other gaming mice.

Well, you should buy a mechanical keyboard on the type of switch. Get yourself to a store or grab a cherry MX sampler off ebay.

I'm making the assumption that your want the lightest key activation, because that's what 90% of people prefer - so your choices are:

MX Red - linear travel, smooth all the way to the bottom
MX Blue - tactile travel, key clicks like the old buckling-spring IBM keyboards
MX Brown - halfway between reds and blues, they have the bump but it's more subtle and much quieter.

Once you know what keys you want, you can choose a keyboard with genuine Cherry MX switches, not some own-brand copies from a vendor that can't write n-key rollover and windows drivers for a keyboard. I liked my Das, I like my Coolermaster, and the Corsairs are highly-regarded by most reviewers. Rosewill use genuine Cherry MX keys if you're short on cash and want the cheapest decent option.

My Rosewill RK-9000BR has Cherry MX Brown key switches. I've added O-rings to the keycaps to dampen the rattle. I'm a touch typist, so there's no need for backlighting of any color. I use the numpad quite often, so a "tenkeyless" design wouldn't suit me. I've tried the Corsair Strafe and Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro. Both were good, but I liked the feel of the Corsair slightly better.
