Cleaning up printer ink absorber pad/box?

Thu Apr 19, 2018 7:49 pm

Anyone ever tried to clean up or replace an inkjet's ink absorber pad/felt, or the whole reservoir box?
Presumably I could try just to reset the printer's counters, but I like better the idea of dealing with it preemptively, instead of waiting for ink to one day overflow into the printer (or out of it).

Nope, but I would just soak the felt pads in a small sealed jar of IPA* and mechanically clean most of the dried ink syrup out of the plastic tank.

*not that IPA, you alcoholic!
