LED lighting questions

Fri Jun 01, 2018 11:19 am

Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm making a new build and want to add some lighting to this one. I'm relatively new to lighting though, so I have some questions.

I'm getting the Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 7. The motherboard has separate headers for digital LEDs or RGBW LEDs. Would the digital LEDs be the way to go?

What I'm wanting to do in my build is to be able to cut several LED strips to length, link them together through quick connectors, and just plug it into the motherboard through one of the headers. I've seen some kits that have external PSUs and I'd rather not have that. Is this possible?

The LED strip on the motherboard's website appears to be digital and have cut lines, and I'm assuming that being on the website would have the appropriate connector to plug into the mobo. Any idea on the brand of that strip? Looks like it might meet everything I need.

Wouldn't let me post a direct link to the site, btw.

Thank you in advance!!!
