USB stops working

Hey Ive got a weird problem on my latest iteration of my CarPC

Im running a Sempron 3000 on an Asus K8V-MX/S, and after some seemingly random amount of time, USB will stop working. The computer doesnt freeze or anything, but the touchscreen, keyboard, or anything else plugged into USB stops doing anything. Its still providing power, but the computer cant find the devices anymore. Everything goes back to normal after a reboot.

Any thoughts?
So how fast is your car, anyway?

Oh, about 1200mhz.

Repeatable? Does it do the same with Knoppix or another live CD.

Is the power supply big enough to power the whole system? Weird power drops like that can happen if you have too small of a power supply as could be the case in an environment like a car.

Always happens, sometimes with 5 minutes of being powered on, sometimes not for an hour.

I dont THINK its a power issue, Im only running a single laptop HD, the screen and the computer itself.

Before I was running the above plus a desktop HD with no issues, but Ill try turning down the voltage/speed on the core to reduce power consumption.


Havent tried running off a live CD because I dont have a CD drive :P
So how fast is your car, anyway?

Ok.. Ive sort of figured out whats causing it

It was actually me unplugging the USB keyboard, which I used to do all the time (I dont leave it plugged in since its in a car and keys tend to get pressed at random). Whenever I unplug something from USB, everything stops working until I reboot.
So how fast is your car, anyway?
