I suppose I should have stated that I did a google search. I was hoping for some more details from people that may have first hand knowledge.

A track and hold (a.k.a. sample and hold) circuit takes a snapshot of an analog signal at a particular instant in time. It is typically used as the front-end to an ADC (analog to digital converter), to "freeze" the input value so that it does not change while the ADC performs the conversion.

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

We found a bag full of these chips in my grandfather's apartment. He worked for Martin Marietta as well as GE doing something with radar and other related equipment. Just curious as to what they were and why he would have so many of them.
