gateway DX4860-UB32P

Mon Jul 02, 2012 10:14 am

Hiya everyone,
I just picked up a gateway DX4860-UB32P with a 2120 cpu 6 gb ddr1333 memory a 1 TB HD in a compact mid tower for 317$ , on top of that i picked up a HIS hd 7750 icooler graphics card for 109$ that uses no pcie 6 pin power connector since i am limited to my bobo 300 watt psu. The i cooler 7750 uses a whole 71 watts fully loaded and i am happy to say it is double the card my 6570 was even Oced to 850 core and 1050 ddr3 mem. It runs diablo 3 in 1080p with everything maxed 8x aa 16 af, framw rates according to fraps stay between 46 and 58fps
The system is totally silent even with the graphics card running at 100%

Here is my main question i am wondering if the h67 motherboard will support a ivy bridge cpu....i just might grab a i5 2400 sandy cpu for 165$, but if i can install a ivy cpu i would like to since they use less power and there seems to be more ivy cpus around then sandys lately.
Any input would be appreciated

I believe it is the newer H77 chipset that supports 3rd generation Intel Core processors (Code-Ivy Bridge).

Most retail H67, P67, and Z68 boards received BIOS updates for Ivy Bridge.

As for the OP, ugh. product support page

I mean, seriously, the BIOS tab of the support page says Ivy Bridge right there.
