just wondering if there was any reason i shouldnt raid my 2 2tb drives, they are my storage drives as i have an ssd for the os. Is there actually any benefit to using them in a raid 0 setup

Well it would give you a speed boost over having each one separate, but if one drive fails all 4 TB is gone. I would make sure the risk of losing the data is lower than the benefit of the speed boost.

RAID 0 is neither Redundant nor, in the long run, Inexpensive.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

its just for my movies for my media center, nothing important or anything im afraid of losing. I would just rather have 1 drive show up instead of 2. but i was wondering if jbod would be any better

Assuming you are using Windows NT (4?) and above, then you can just mount the drives as folders under C:. So even better.

Or, if you are using Windows 7 (and 8?), you can let the drive letters stay, but access your movies with Libraries spanning across the 2 root folders?

Kind of JBOD-ish.
