I got one of the 27" Korean ips monitors.
It's nice, but my video card doesn't seem to be up to the job. I can run the 27"(with dvi-d), my 42" tv(hdmi), but I can't get the vga on 24" monitor to work at the same time. I'm currently using an msi radeon hd 5450 card.
Can someone please recommend a vid card that supports triple monitors?

I built the dorm room pc from a previous system guide. Has a ivy bridge i3 3.3 on Gigabytes' h77-wifi mini itx board. Samsung ssd, 16gb of ram, 2tb hdd in silverstone's little case. I am concerned a little about vid card temps.
My korean monitor needs dvi, the 42" tv needs hdmi, and the 24" monitor can use hdmi, dvi, or vga.
Not much gaming, but I really need all 3 monitors work.

I bet your GPU is AMD...

Only one of the DVI ports on the card support analog video out. This port is seen by the VGA logo near the DVI port.
Check to see what screen is plugged in where. Also, if the screen does not support analog video, the screen will not work on an all digital port.

Plus I have issues running three screens with the HDMI port active.

I don't know what you're doing with it but a GTX 660 or HD 7870 would be a good choice for that setup. Not cheap but not too expensive either. You're pushing a lot more pixels now, will be worth it.

If you unplug the HDMI cable (or is it the DVI cable?) the VGA port will work. Obviously that doesn't help you run all three at the same time.
1) What's your budget for a new GPU
2) Do you play games (if so what games) and what monitor do you game on. (your 24" monitor or TV with 1080p screen is easier to push than the 2560 x 1440 screen on the Koran monitor in games)
3) Do you require any specific combination of ports?

The 7770 for $100 is an inexpensive card for 1080p gaming.
The 7850 for $170 is a good place to start if you're gaming on your 27" korean monitor.

All AMD 7xxx cards and Nvidia GTX 650 on up support 3 monitors.

Too bad you don't have two monitors that use HDMI. You could've tried the IGP ports from the motherboard since it has two HDMI and one DVI and possibly foregone the discrete GPU altogether. You wouldn't be playing any modern demanding games with the Intel IGP, but you'd save the $100 or so on a 7770. You could try one of these adapters

I'm sorry, I goofed, but the 24" monitor can use hdmi, dvi, or vga.
So do I need a vid card with two hdmi out?

Your gigabyte board has two HDMI and a DVI port. If you haven't bought a discrete GPU yet, I would hold off and just try hooking all the monitors up to your motherboard. If you have the i3-3225, the HD4000 graphics are better than your 5450 anyway. HDMI cables cost $7 or less if you need one.

If you've already bought a discrete GPU, then you can always buy adapters if the card doesn't have the exact port layout you're looking for. Otherwise you can get Mini-Display port cables with a HDMI or DVI end.
