Color Laser MPF suggestions

Mon Jan 20, 2014 6:46 pm

Hello gerbils. I am looking for a color laser MFP device. What's a good choice?

Maybe up to $500 range but ideally with lowish cost per page

Can't help you with specific models, but Brother products play well in this area and there's tons of "hints" available to further reduce your costs.

I was pleased with the Brother MFC-9970CDW. Even got a RAM upgrade to max it out. That was in the $500 to $600 range new.

Maybe you can find a used HP Color LaserJet CM3530 MFP for cheap. The CM3530fs model has a fax card already but you can add one to the regular CM3530. ... 709253.pdf

I would go with the brother as well for personal use.

They make pretty good laser printers. (Yeah I know they are technically LED not laser but who needs to nitpick...)
I wish to see things not as they are but as they should be.

If you haven't heard of/considered it, you may want to check out the HP Officejet Pro X-Series. It's an inkjet, but it's also a new print technology that is pretty awesome (up to 70ppm). We replaced our laser printer (a Brother 9010 MFC) with one, and it's been incredible for a few months now. Lower cost per page than laser, easier (and cheaper) to refill ink, way lower cost of ownership, full automatic duplex, awesome interface. It's very cool, worth considering for certain I'd say. We have the x476dn (non-wireless networking). I picked one up NIB on ebay for <$500. Let me know if you have any questions. ... eries.html
