Need help identifying a video card...

Sun Jul 10, 2016 5:05 pm

Hello all,

I spent my day dismantling a couple of old extended family PCs and am trying to identify a video card. I suppose I could plug it into one of my own systems and figure it out, but I thought I'd just post a picture and ask here! I linked to the image below as stored on my Drive:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1KNhVEqzVr1TFF5Y1B6QXgxa0U

I suspect it may be a Nvidia Geforce 7900 GS PCI-E X16, 256MB. I am pretty sure I remember many years ago suggesting that card to my mother over the integrated video at the time for my younger brother who liked to game a little bit.

What do you all think?

Thanks!

Can you provide a picture of the back side?

Anyway, I suspect you're correct that its a 7900 GS.

The "Nvidia model P455" identifier from the back side of the card seems to strongly indicate this is the 7900 GS.

4770K @ 4.7 GHz; 32GB DDR3-2133; Officially RX-560... that's right AMD you shills!; 512GB 840 Pro (2x); Fractal Define XL-R2; NZXT Kraken-X60

Yup, 7900 GS: http://techreport.com/review/10715/nvid ... phics-card (look at the component placement... seems identical to me).

A Google search on the PCB part number "180-10455-0000-A01" seems to imply that the Quadro FX 1500/3500 may also be based on the same design, but I seriously doubt you would've recommended a Quadro for your mom and gamer brother.
