Heck, I'm still looking for a Fiji card. I don't know that I'll ever get one at this late date though.

VRAM isn't an issue at 1080p, just need high framerates.

Radeon RX Vega is within 15% of MSRP at Newegg today. Radeon RX Vega 56 is as low as $450 and Radeon RX Vega 64 is $570.

I've been watching 480 and 580 and I starting to see used cards pop up at $200.

I game at 1920x1080 (24" monitor) I don't forsee myself getting a 4k monitor or anything like that any time soon.
I'm getting a 480 or 580 so I can use freesync when I do finally get a new monitor.

Anything more is not in the budget any time soon anyway.

Newegg was letting the watercooled MSI 1080Ti go for US$709 (of US$799) out the door yesterday; it's a lot of money, but given the sustained performance and my output set to 1440p165, I went ahead and splurged.

Hopefully the Vegas will start seeing similar sales, if not downward price adjustments!

PG279Q? I'm sort of regretting going for 2440x1440x100Hz instead of 2560x1440x165Hz with ULMB. ULMB is amazing, but the PG279Q that I tried had just awful BLB. I wasn't willing to play return roulette for a good monitor, so I nabbed an X34, instead. You'll love the 1080Ti; these cards scream.

Nice catch. At $420, that Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 56 is just 5% over MSRP.

I saw that yesterday...
Too bad $400 is out of my promised price range.

Acer XB271HU, actually, but same idea!

And I love that that card- the 1080Ti water-cooled which essentially represents the GPU 'ceiling'- is coming down in price, which means that basically everything should start adjusting down.
