The only review I could find was in German, but pretty much summed up what I thought...
"The MSI GTX 1080 Aero OC is recommended for smallest cases that require a radial fan or if the small dimensions are absolutely necessary. The low power consumption can also be shown as a plus – the lowest in our test here, when you look at the everyday load. Otherwise, it may sound a bit harsh, but the cooler is completely overwhelmed with the heat released. The card runs so constant with high fan and already after 5 min in the game is the absolute underlying clock. If you look at the temperatures again, the picture is confirmed. Already in idle mode, where the fan of the MSI Aero OC even runs, other cards in the complete passive mode have even better temperatures.
For this I find the graphics card with about €500 at the test time simply too expensive. Especially if you consider that the ZOTAC GTX 1080 AMP Edition is available for the same price. Thanks to the better cooler, however, there is a much higher boost and therefore more power. This is where the MSI GTX 1080 Aero OC in our comparison unfortunately hits the last place. We give the hwp_Checked award for this model."
