So Windows Phone doesn't have a WEIRD FRENCH translator?

German. The ".de" TLD is Germany. And if you'd use a modern browser, there would be a "Translate" button for you to click.

Well he did say it was "weird" -- oh wait WEIRD -- French. German certainly looks weird if you were expecting French.

Because it's not actually German. It's English just with vaguely German sounding prefixes and Admittedly, some of the words are actual German, because the German word already sounds close to the English word. A lot of it is utterly meaningless gibberish in German.

Actual translation:

ATTENTION! ALL <does not translate>! All tourist and non-technical <does not translate>! The computer machine is not for <does not translate> and middle grave. Is easy to grab the jumping mechanism, <does not translate> and <does not translate> with peak parking. Is not for work in the silly head. The <does not translate> viscera <does not translate> the cotten-pecking <does not translate> must in the pockets; relax and watch the blinking light.

It once was, oh, about 30 years ago (back when mainframes still had Blinkenlights).

Even today some servers still do. HP still has blinkenlights, and a panel that you can pull out for even more blinkenlights!

Well, even many ROG motherboards have blinkenlights. Not just for show but also for diagnostics. Much more convenient than the beeping sound they made in the past (it wasn't exactly Morse code but still...).

Anyway, nobody commented on the actual news, which are the performance improvements on Vega. Good news. Or bad news, if you think that they should have been ready at launch. Whatever. I'll be interested when (if) Vega 56 can be found for $400 where I live. Currently sitting proudly at >$500.

Do you live somewhere that FedEx can't find? Radeon RX Vega 56 and 64 have both been available from our favorite e-tailers for MSRP (or even a smidgen below) in the past couple of weeks. If there's not a similar deal running today, there's certain to be another one in the next two weeks.

Look up in the address bar on the right hand side. It might not POP UP, but rather just show the icon. I'm not sure if that's a website setting or a Chrome decision that makes it pop up at you, but it should be there.

This silliness dates back at least as far as 1955 at IBM and had already gone international by the early 1960s...

You're getting old, Ned.
Be careful on inserting this (or any G34 chip) into the socket. Once you pull that restraining lever, it is either a good install or a piece of silicon jewelry.

The linked articles were worth a look, and it was interesting to see the consistency all together from your posting all 4 links.

I think the tangentialism was due to a lack of additional discussion, and any points to agree or disagree with, within your OP, TBH. 4 links to pages, that probably most readers here can't actually read, with nothing else said, is not going to be the best discussion initiator...

It's not exactly a shocker, but it is true that not all GPU architectures age well. The GeForce 7000-series in particular ran existing games excellently but failed horribly at anything that wasn't DX9 without extensions.
