It depends on what you are trying to do... If you're playing older games or indie titles than a GTX 1050Ti is fine. But, if you're playing AAA games on a 1080p monitor at high and ultra settings, playing resolutions greater than 1080p or running a 144hz monitor or just about anything VR, then that would be a no.

In other news, EVGA has a couple of GTX 1080 Ti on for $749 and some GTX 1080 cards for $549. All very tempting. But I still want to wait for the 1100 series, I'm hoping that the 1100 series will bring some optimizations to VR that are something else other than a proprietary NVidia thing as my main game I VR in is Elite Dangerous which will likely never include such optimizations. But then again, I've slowed down playing the game. It's really losing steam, the only thing to do anymore is grind, grind, grind... Hopefully the Q4 update will breath new life into it but I doubt it.

It's a bizarre world we now live in when cards at the tail end of their generation reaching MSRP is considered progress.

Almost time for me to upgrade to the previous generation once the next generation of cards comes out later this year, from my 2 generations old graphics card.

I noticed that the Nvidia store in the UK has started getting stocks of reference 1080 and 1070Ti models back, at the MSRP.

I don't need one any more but I was desperately trying to find a 1070+ for something approaching a sensible price about three months ago, and failed hard.
Congratulations, you've noticed that this year's signature is based on outdated internet memes; CLICK HERE NOW to experience this unforgettable phenomenon. This sentence is just filler and as irrelevant as my signature.

I wish NVidia would get off the pot already... Today, Newegg has a GTX 1070ti for $419 with promo code and a $10 mail in rebate. That's the best price on a 1070ti I've ever seen!

It's a new NV money strategy: Not announcing the next gen until the very last moment so desperate enough people will still buy current gen cards now.

I saw the 1070ti for 420 and its sad because i'm getting anxious to upgrade. Overall I'm still fairly happy with my Asus Geforce GTX 970 it has something like a 250mhz overclock from Asus. But I am ready to upgrade, my 3rd system needs a new graphics card and I usually shift all my hardware down. So my 970 goes to the wife/daughter, and her Radeon 285 will go down to the 3rd system. I'm to the point where when the new nvidia cards are released i'm ready to preorder one if I have to, even at a 30-40 premium. It would be worth it get a 1-2 full cycles out of the hardware, come on Nvidia we are ready...

Tweaktown is sticking to its guns sand saying the GTX 1180 will be débuted July 30th and cost between 999.99 and 1499.99...

I can't see it even if it's faster than the GTX 1080 Ti. That's a huge jump in price for that card when you consider the GTX 1080 listed for around $549.99. I dam sure ain't buying one.

GTX 1080 was $700 on release. Then manufacturers just dropped it down to around $620 once custom cards came out. Price dropped an additional $100 when the 1080 Ti was released.

That's Titan money, but if it's significantly faster than the 1080 Ti it wouldn't be unprecedented. Up until this point we've all been assuming it's just a little faster than the 1080 Ti, but that could be wrong.

GTX 1070's used prices are starting to fall through the floor. Some of the others are also dropping, just not as fast.
