Greetings - Recieved Flight Sim 2002 Pro for Xmas. The newset Flight Sim is great but I need to upgrade hardware to make it really fly!
The first thing I'm looking for is display adapter. I have only PCI slots.
The computer is a Pressario EZ 2600 with a Celeron 675.
The monitor is a 7 year old Acer 11D, Yep - that''l be replaced next.
This is really the only high graphics application I use aside from the internet, I don't really paly any other games.
Thanks for help!

Hmm don't spend too much money on that old beast. I'd recommend either a Radeon 7xxx series or a nVidia GF2MX400 based card.

Don't you think the 7xxx series Radeon is a bit too overpowered for such an old ass game? I recommend sticking with IGP of any sort, Intel and AMD both would do just fine with that game.
i5 2500K @ 4.6GHz / Cooler Master V8 / Asus P8P67 Evo / 8GB G.skill DDR3-1600 / Zotac GTX 780 3GB / Seasonic S12-650 / Samsung 850pro 256GB SSD / Corsair 600T Graphite / those cheap 1440p Korean monitors

It doesn't help that the Radeon product numbering scheme wrapped around (but with the added "HD" prefix).
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

So the last version is flight simulator x and there are still content packs being released by third parties. Photo realistic cities and stuff like that. My dad is really into it and has a whole HOTAS setup for it.

Right now he runs it on an old dell pentium 4 extreme running Windows XP. Some old ATI HD 4350 I think. Whatever was one of the best cards I could get him with Windows XP drivers and would work in a PCI slot. (AGP? I forget what that dimension xps with pentium EE has)

There are deeper discussions on dedicated forums about the best hardware and OS to use for this app. Surprisingly apparently Windows 10 does better than Windows 7 or vista for this. There is a strong community around this game.

I am throwing this info out there in case some ms flight sim fan runs into this and has a serious question regarding hardware for the game in 2018.
