Rad8500LE probs that could happen plz answer if you can help

Umm im waiting for my Rad8500Le 128 mb agp4x card to come, and my friend has the same one, and he told me that he had to get a heat sink for the ddrram on the card cuz it cept freezing when he ran 3d applications. He told me he bought a heat sink but cut it in half and im not sure i can do that crap? so if you know what hes talking about and can help please do.

Also my other friend had a g4ti i think, and his burned out he ended up buying a new one becuase the company never sent him a new one cuz of chapt 11

Must be pretty hot where you are for these cards to burn out. You should try more aircooling for your case before doing any 'operating' on your graphics card.

I have that same card you're talking about, and have never had any heat problems with it. Like etilena said, if it is a heat problem, then it's probably due to airflow in the case. If the card required ramsinks to run properly, it'd come with them.

I believe if you have any problems in 3D applications they most likely appear because of drivers issues.I also faced problems that were solved with new drivers but then new ones came :P

i got a nice/cheap 2nd hand 8500. it had no problems cept for NFS:HP2 at full details. will hang the PC. returned it. had only 3 days but very little time to test it out since i'm working and other stuff. discovered it 1 day late.
