Maximum Number of Displays

Thu Sep 19, 2013 2:56 pm

For a CPU with IGP, there are video ports on the motherboard, on which discrete video cards can also be added. My question is how many displays can be supported? Number of displays supported by motherboard + Number of displays supported by video cards?

Generally, yes. Most onboard graphics support one or two monitors. Most recent onboard graphics can be used even with a discrete card or cards installed. Max monitors = max for iGP plus max for cards.

My work computer's got 4 monitors: two driven by Ivy Bridge IGP, two driven by an add-in Radeon card. Works just fine in Win7.
