CLUB3D Radeon R9 270X 14SERIES CGAX-R927X614

Mon Mar 24, 2014 8:33 pm

Welp. I got a day left on that sale. So I'll risk being obnoxious and creating a thread for this.

Single fan, no baseclock, boost clock of 1080, sensible pricing.

Anyone have experience with that card? Does it run noisy or hot?

There's one review for it on newegg that says it's a bit noisy.

Anyone who doesn't have any experience with the card have any thoughts they'd share?

The allure of it is getting a cheaper one to wait til 20nm, and not paying too much for a respin 7870 in 2014. no base clock combined with simpler cooler could mean it underperforms though and there's no review of this particular card.

edit: thought I didn't put the link here

Club3D is the market leader in Europe for video cards for quite some time and they have started to branch out to North America now. You should be fine with the card.

They're pretty loud and can get hot if you run them in constricted spaces. They're also voltage locked for Afterburner and other similar utilities, but you can use VBE7 to modify the bios and change the default voltages.

They're a brand that sells in Europe, albeit one of the lesser-known ones. Usually cheaper but not quite as fancy cards. Dunno where you go the market leader thing from :)
