Most of the DELL/Acer/Lenovo/HP machines on the market that take low-profile cards, have 2-3 slots on the Motherboard - so the dual-width cards are fine for most people.
If you're using something that needs low-profile cards in a single slot width, then you're definitely an outlier - good luck :)

Look more closely at the black PCIe x4 slot on the right - DELL use an open-ended slot. Only the blue PCIe x16 slot is width-limited - you can run your low profile double-width card in the x4 slot just fine, and the performance-drop is minimal compared to the x16 slot. Here's a clearer picture of mine :

ok, i check it. I put my r7 to short pci and ... worke it ! I test in CS Go ... i think the same FPS. Test on gpu.userbenchmark: LONG pci - 15,6% SHORT pci - 15,5%.
I think about 1050 ti 4GB they will be work to ? I read in short PCI RAM is slower ... so game will be work better or no  ?

You do lose a little bit of performance from the x4 slot - but not much.
A 1050 TI 4GB will work fine (I'm using one in a DELL SFF right now) - it won't be quite as fast as it would in the x16 slot, but it's still massively quicker than not using it at all :D

Same here, I figured with the Radeon e9260 being low profile single slot it would be just a matter of time until someone got a consumer version of RX 460 out in the same form factor.

I realize it's a niche market but it's sad that the only add-in option for that size is still hardware based on GCN first gen Cape Verde, which launched... five years ago yesterday.

The only true single-slot cards I have in my possession are a Sapphire Radeon HD 6450 (also half-height, and it's the GDDR5 version with 512MB), and a pair of Zotac GeForce GT 630 with 1GB DDR3. I have no idea why the world is lacking in single slot RX460's by now, except Asus and Evga would rather sell you a dual-slot, dual-fan RX460 for $99 than a single-slot card for $89. The extra plastic taking up the second slot convinces most consumers that it is a "beefier" card, or what have you, and it doesn't hurt the (profit) margins.

I wish the smaller heatsinks and fans cost less, since as consumers we see a smaller product with less material, but the lower sales volume and limited applicability will usually cause the price to be higher than the dual slot behemoth.
Be careful on inserting this (or any G34 chip) into the socket. Once you pull that restraining lever, it is either a good install or a piece of silicon jewelry.

I don't know the performance difference between the two I'm afraid - but if the GTX 1050 is 100% faster, then it's still going to be 90% faster in the PCIe x4 slot.

And now these two:

https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeo ... GT-LP.html

At least with these you can probably modify them to use a single slot cooler... dunno how much thermal throttling you'd end up with, but if you have to have a single slot version...

No displayport though :(

I just found this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 6814105067

It's apparently been out for awhile, and based on the 460... expensive though, and I have no idea what gaming performance would be like.

Interestingly the pins are only x8 (at least from the pictures).

Not sure what kinda performance you'd get out of it though, I couldn't find benchmarks or comparisons (aside from the "generic" comparisons).

Oh, very interesting find, @jackfrost! I had been looking for Radeon Pro cards to see if this happened to show up anywhere and somehow missed it.

A little more info on this part:

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/2874/ ... ro-wx-4100

This appears to be the full unlocked version of the Polaris 11. The x8 connection isn't very strange actually - this is basically the version of the GPU that found its way into the new Macbook Pro, and all of those were x8 interface. In fact:

http://techreport.com/review/30488/amd- ... d-reviewed
(which is this card: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 6814202227)
Or this Gigabyte card: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 6814125898
And some more telling info here from MSI: https://www.msi.com/pdf/presale/Radeon-RX-460-2GT-LP (where it specifically says it's an x16 design, but only uses x8)

You'll find a few models that were done that way, I guess since it only used x8 it didn't need to have the full x16 pins.

It's listed with lower GPU clock speed, but it's got the full 1024 SPs. I would expect gaming performance is extremely close to a standard RX 460; TPU's GPUDB shows the WX 4100 at 2 TFLOPS and the Radeon 460 at 2.15 TFLOPS, so my guess would be within 5-10% of a standard 460.

It's still a lot to pay for the performance - unless you absolutely must have the best you can get in this form factor regardless of price - but considering it's less than the original price of a Quadro K1200 (and those are still going on ebay for roughly $250) and that part was rated just above 1 TFLOP, it's a "pretty good deal" in that very niche USFF workstation GPU space.

It's a really hard sell for gaming though. That's more than double the price of the dual-slot low profile GeForce 1050 cards, and close to double of the 1050ti ones. Hard to recommend paying double for the same performance (though, again, if you absolutely must have the best, I guess that's it!)

Interestingly, while I was looking up some info on it, I noticed TPU also lists a Radeon RX 460 1024SP version, and also a "Radeon RX 560" with the same 1024SP configuration. Speculation based on rumours, yes, but if a product refresh happens and the Polaris 11 stuff gets rebadged, that could be an opportunity for OEMs to release something new in a low profile single slot form factor.

Just wanted to point out that the low profile RX 460 can be fitted into those SFF cases with room for a 2-slot cooler but not the 2nd slotcover, something none of those 1050 or 750 cards in the OP can do because of the DVI. $78.99AR

Interesting! I wonder if they share an OEM with someone who might sell a similar model in western markets.

Might be worth keeping an eye on aliexpress, taobao, etc to see what prices on those are like and if anyone will ship to other regions. Although I couldn't find any "SL geforce" cards when I searched now. Maybe they're a new brand.

This would fit the bill if it had the LP bracket, which it doesn't seem to, and if AMD had a driver for Windows 8.1, which it doesn't ATM. Poor show all round, really.

Can't find wide availability, but Alternate seems to have it available for delivery in a bit under 2 weeks to Germany, and a bit over 2 weeks to the UK.

Not convinced it's a compelling upgrade on my HD 7750 anyway. :-?
