EVGA GTX 780 won't detect TV via HDMI

Both HP monitors work fine but the card will not detect the TV, which is connected via the HDMI port.
I thought NV and AMD had both fixed the EDID bug from years ago so I hope it's not that. Most of the fixes for EDID I found are 4, 5 years old.
Anyway the EVGA 770 I had 2 weeks ago worked perfect - all 3 displays, no problem.
It's definitely the card itself, the HDMI port on the card or a driver issue. I've ruled out the cable and the TV. The TV offers to "Enjoy this device?" when I connect the cable to HDMI 2 (HDMI 1 is cable)
I tried the DVD drivers, also the most recent NV driver (337.88) and a beta driver from EVGA - nothing.
I uninstalled Ultramon thinking that maybe was causing a conflict - no help.
There's no onboard video but I checked the BIOS anyway - nothing there applies.
The only thing I didn't do is flash the BIOS. I highly doubt I need to update the BIOS on an X58 board for a 700-series graphics card. Nobody else on the interweb has needed an update - no one I could find that is.
Any ideas, thoughts, advice - I would really appreciate reading them...Thanks!
