I have just found out that a BitLocker encrypted USB drive cannot be unlocked on my new machine. The encryption was done on a 10-year-old machine.
The symptom is that no dialogue is displayed where a password is entered to unlock the drive. Instead, "Application not found" is displayed. I have two more old machines of the same generation and there is no such problem with these machines. I wonder if this is the way a Bitlocker encrypted drive works or rather not works.
To resolve the problem, I can unlock it on the old machine, and lock it on the new machine. I thought it can be unlocked on any machine as long as the correct password is used.
The OS on the old machine is W10 Pro 21H2, and the new machine is W10 Pro 22H2.
