My computer boots in about the same time as it takes it to wake from sleep, which is about 15 secs. My computer is i5-4670k, 8GB ram, windows 8.1, 840 evo. I remember an old computer waking up from sleep almost instantlly.

One thing would be to set your IP to be static instead of DHCP.

Do you really mean sleep, or do you mean hibernate? Wake from sleep should be faster than that, but speed of wake from hibernate is limited by the need to reload the entire contents of RAM from your boot drive. 15 seconds is about what I'd expect for an 8GB system to resume from hibernate if the hibernate file is on a SSD...

Yes, wake from sleep. Not hibernate.

Maybe something is wrong because my computer only takes a few seconds, maybe 10-15 at the most.

Just don't turn the damn thing off.

Not necessarily good advice, I get a noticeable difference in my utility bill when I set up computer to go into sleep mode and turn it off at night.
