Commercial skipping on Linux

Mon Feb 13, 2017 5:59 pm

As a way to teach myself Python I wrote a script for removing commercials from the shows I record off my HDHomeRun Prime using comskip and ffmpeg. The script its self works fine, but comskip doesn't. Or at least, it doesn't without a lot of manual tweaking. So far I've found little to no documentation on exactly what comskip's options do, so I'm asking my fellow gerbils what they might have done in the past. I remember MythTV having the ability to skip commercials, but I'm reluctant to revise the stack I have set up unless tweaking comskip is going to be even more of a pain in the neck. What say you gerbils?
Do not meddle in the affairs of archers, for they are subtle and you won't hear them coming.
