Firefox tabs disappeared

Thu Dec 21, 2017 11:26 pm

I wonder what bright boy thought removing the tabs was a good idea. Does anyone like having the tabs buried in a menu? The whole point to the tabs for me is to have them out where I can see them, and access them easily. What I really hate is having the new version installed without my consent. I had auto-update turned off.

No idea what you're on about. I've got a mostly-unconfigured Firefox profile and the tabs are on the top bar plain as day. Do you have an extension that's maybe hiding your tabs?

Yeah, really sounds like some extension is messing with you.

Nothing odd showed up in my extensions, so I tried to just unistall, then reinstall Firefox. No joy. It was time to nuke Firefox from my system. Whereis Firefox and whereis Mozilla gave me my targets (I'm working in Linux Mint 18.2).
The offending whatever was in the .Mozilla folder. I reinstalled FF, and the heavens opened up and brought forth my tabs again.
Oddly, when I searched the net for info on the missing tabs I found several links to discussions about the tabs being permanantly removed as a new feature.
