I have a PC that will not play youtube videos in any browser(chrome, edge, firefox). The system is a I7-4770k, 16gb ram, 500gb SSD, Nvidia 970, Windows 10. I've tried installing the latest drivers, resetting chrome settings, even though it wont play in any browser. Youtube will load slowly, but the videos will not play. I'm stumped. Please help.

My other PCs and devices on the home network have no issues with youtube.

What error message or how does it not work?

What about video on other sites?

If you have a fancy USB or HDMI audio output setup, did you try disconnecting everything and leaving just the onboard audio?

No error message it just doesnt load the video almost like its buffering still. I can try to unplug the usb audio headset. Also I can try another site and get back to you.

So twitch, espn, hulu stream fine. Unplugging the USB headset did not make a difference.

I'm going to try reinstalling video drivers.

You could also try hitting F12 in Chrome to bring up the console. It may have some diagnostic information to indicate what's wrong.

Also in chrome and firefox try resetting the browser.

Double check your DNS settings as well. If they are different from your other machines that can be the cause.

I see this same action with firewall and dns settings.

So it turns out that PC had some misc software on it that claims to be system/internet protection but was causing the issue. Malwarbytes did not flag it as malicious but a quick google search showed that most people claimed it was junk/spyware.

I'm a little surprised it didn't offer to "fix" the problem for you... for a small fee...

Check sound softwares kHz and line-in
