In short, there's an opportunity to buy the stream of $100K annual payments owed by the Mets to Daryl Strawberry. He ceded them to his ex in the divorce, she lost them in bankruptcy, now the Court is selling them.

Hmm, 19 years of monthly payments of $8,891.82. For those of you without an HP-12C at your side, the minimum bid of $550K implies a yield to maturity of 18.84%, so there's clearly some room in the bid. Even at $1 million, you're looking at a yield to maturity of 8.56%.

Time for the Mets fans to put their money where their mouths are.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.
