Was a bit silly to limit the amount of engine parts for the teams though. It new technology and they are at the bleeding edge so restricting them to only 4 engines tightens the leash too much on the teams. The teams in the middle and rear are the ones who need to do the most research(engineering) to get their engines to a competitive state.

The flip side to this is that companies such as Mercedes and Ferrari have the budget to go ballistic if there are no restrictions. Cost soar and F1 turns into the Mercedes and Ferrari show.

I am really surprised at how badly Renault and Honda are doing.

Renault was more reliable last year than this year. It's like not only have they gone in the wrong direction but they've also forgotten how to go back to what they had last year and try again.

Williams started amazingly well, but both Mercedes and Vettel's Ferrari finished better. Fernando Alonso managed a 10th place for his first championship point of the season after crashing his teammate out of the race on the first lap.

It should never have happened. The conditions that caused the scenario to unfold were atroucious. A safety car should have been deployed immediately after the first crash.

Today's race in Budapest was full of surprises. Who picked Fernando Alonso to bring his much-maligned McLaren-Honda home three seconds ahead of Louis Hamilton's Mercedes?

Drivers' point standings after ten of nineteen races:
202 Lewis Hamilton - Mercedes
181 Nico Rosberg - Mercedes
160 Sebastian Vettel - Ferrari
77 Valtteri Bottas - Williams/Mercedes
76 Kimi Raikkonen - Ferrari
74 Felipe Massa - Williams/Mercedes
51 Daniel Ricciardo - Red Bull/Renault
45 Daniil Kvyat - Red Bull/Renault
24 Nico Hulkenberg - Force India/Mercedes
23 Romain Grosjean - Lotus/Mercedes
22 Max Verstappen - Toro Rosso/Renault
16 Felipe Nasr - Sauber/Ferrari
15 Sergio Perez - Force India/Mercedes
12 Pastor Maldonado - Lotus/Mercedes
11 Fernando Alonso - McLaren/Honda
9 Carlos Sainz Jr. - Toro Rosso/Renault
6 Jenson Button - McLaren/Honda
6 Marcus Ericsson - Sauber/Ferrari
0 Roberto Merhi - Manor/Ferrari
0 Will Stevens - Manor/Ferrari
0 Kevin Magnussen - McLaren/Honda

Rosberg got a screwjob from the FIA.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

I thought that Rosberg's trouble came when Ricciardo attempted to pass him in turn 1 and they came together, puncturing Rosberg's tire.

And there was no penalty on Ricciardo.

Rosberg's trouble started when he made the insane call to stick with the harder compound for his last stint. He was covering what Hamilton was doing. It was such a weak thing to do. Grow a pair Rosberg! Even Coulthard made a note of Rosberg's request before he went into the pits. Instead of challenging Vettel for the win he ended up fighting (and losing) to Ricciardo. Utter bullocks.

As in the previous GP Hamilton showed that he is loses it when he falls behind. He managed to save it at Silverstone (car) but he basically fell off the track this race. A champion he may be but a champion he is not (best car this time around and he would not have won his first championship if Glock had not mysteriously slowed to almost walking pace by the 2nd to last corner in Brazil). At this rate Seb will be champion (please no).

Poor Kimi. :(

Kimi ran a fine race. Passing Ricciardo, Rosberg and Hamilton on the first lap was no small feat. He could have had second place behind his teammate if his Ferrari's MGU-K hybrid power system had not died.

Can someone please take away Crashtor's licence? They stewards only gave him 2 points bringing him up to a total of 6. I know Lotus are really desperate for the money he brings (especially after Friday's tyre fiasco), but he's going to end up costing them that in new parts and fines from the FIA.

Force India is worrying with the suspension failure on Friday and then the front wing failure in the race. Keep it safe guys.
