Renewing the existing league; it should send invites. Will fill in more details as I get around to it.

Draft is Thursday April 2 at 9:30PM EDT. Yahoo tells me I have 2 open spots; those will become available in this thread once everyone else from last year is in.

I hope y'all like my name as much as last year's incarnation.

As usual, I'm more than happy to give up my spot, if someone wants it.. I'll fill out the league to keep the teams even.

d0ugmelvin & TheEmrys:

PM me an e-mail addy and I'll send an invite. For some reason known only to Yahoo that's the only way to get you in.

OK, open call. We've got 6 teams and the league is designed for 10. Anyone who wants in should PM me soonest. Given the time constraints I'll wait for 2 solids before sending info (Yahoo hates odd numbers).

Yeah, I'd really rather not have one person on a bye every week, that would kinda suck.

I've got the invite.. I was just waiting to see if anyone wants the slot. I'll fill out any odd numbers.

I think the draft is in a couple days right? Do you need me to sign up to fill any spots?

Just sent an invite which would make 7, so we'll need you.

I should be there as I can't imagine daughter's school band concert going that late.

I probably can't make it. Autodraft for me :-/

I have to make it. Haven't done anything with auto-draft lists.

I should be there... better set up the autodraft just in case.

Fun aside: I did a mock draft a couple of weeks ago just to get used to the updated interface (it's all HTML 5, not Flash anymore, AFAICT, so make sure you check your browser is compatible). It was me and a couple of other guys and then five or six bots to fill out the league... but at the end there was some kind of glitch and the mock became real Yahoo created the league and teams and now I'm in another league also. Except at least one other guy was in the same situation as me and he's bailing out. I probably don't have the bandwidth to track two teams, but I might check in on that one every week or so just for laughs.

So who's running the other teams? Are they just automatons? Could be kinda scary.

Not sure. I guess I could ask, but I'll probably just get into some kind of Eliza chatbot House of Turing mirrors. ;p

Actually, I suspect the bots are just there for the draft and the teams will just be abandoned for the season -- lineups won't get adjusted, injured players won't get put into the DL slot, under-performing players won't get dropped, etc.

holy crap, the same exact thing happened to me. I thought maybe I clicked on the wrong button somewhere and ended up in a real draft. I just renamed the team "The '62 Mets" and am gonna leave them alone for the year.

Pujols passed a bunch of guys on the all-time HR list today - Frank Thomas, Willie McCovey, and Ted "Theodore" Williams. I'll assume A-Rod will hit 7+ HR this year to put him at #4. So does Albert eventually take the #5 spot? Does he hit more than 660 by the end of the 2021 season? Counting this year there's 7 seasons, so that's an average of 20/year from here on out to hit 660 even, and one more to take fifth place.

Unless he's just hanging around for the paycheck, the only way Pujols is on an MLB field in 2021 is if he's a coach.

Given Arte Moreno's behavior around the Josh Hamilton situation, I'd probably hang around just for the paycheck.

For the bloody love of Babe Ruth I hate dead teams. Matt's Team hasn't signed in since March 31, a/k/a before the draft.

If you're not going to truly participate, why do you bother signing up?

It's very frustrating to be playing a guy who is starting two players who are on the DL and only be splitting the week 7-7, that's for damn sure.
