Playoff Football

Sat Jan 09, 2016 5:58 pm

I'd hate to be a Texans fan 'bout now. Brian Hoyer will need an escort to leave the stadium if this goes on.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Dabo grooms players, Saban creates machines.

I prefer the former. :P

Manning to Super Bowl 50...now that is a story. He'll be facing a tough challenge no matter who wins the NFC, but it's nice to see the old man in another big game.
On second thought, let's not go to TechReport. It's infested by crypto bull****.

Hopefully it goes a little better for him than the last time.

I hope so too. Two things are better for #18 this time: a much improved Broncos defense, and no John Fox to forget how to prepare for everything. I am also sure that #18 no longer has to carry the team, unlike his days with Indianapolis. Go Broncos.

Broncos Patriots was an enjoyable game. I liked the Gronkowski catch for the TD at the end but the 2 point conversion was one too many great plays to ask for.

Wife was like "is this game over yet??"

Panthers are 3.5 point favorites. I think I'd take Carolina and lay the points.

45.5 over/under. I'd load up on the over before it goes up. Carolina loves the over and I don't think they'll shut Denver down either.

Denver has a very good defense and we have seen in past Super Bowls that those with the better defense win. e.g. Ravens

2013 Seahawks, 2000 Ravens, 2002 Buccaneers, 1985 Bears, Pittsburgh back in the '70s. . . . . . .

Not sure how it will be this time, but we will all find out.

In addition to being a good defense, Denver has a fast defense; which is going to be key against Carolina.

Just like with Carson Palmer, Peyton Manning still doesn't seem quite right. I was hoping they'd leave Osweiler in there, but knew it would never happen with Manning and his legacy. Unfortunately I don't think any team with a less-than-100% QB is going to beat Carolina.

I'm taking the under... I don't think Carolina is going to be able to blow out Denver like they did Arizona.. Most Den games have been under 40 points total.

Manning is a little better.. he was off on a few throws in the AFCGG.. the bigger problem is getting Hillman going in the running game. I suspect, that Manning will start, and Osweiler will come in at some point..

Carson Palmer has only won ONE playoff game his entire career. More often than not USC QBs in the NFL have consistently underachieved and have not done well in the playoffs. Osweiler's issue is that he has so little experience that he could have LOST the AFC Championship, let alone the Super Bowl (especially given Belichick's defensive schemes). #18 has a chance, Osweiler does not. Maybe in two or three years, Osweiler might figure it all out. This team is built to win NOW, not in five years.
