JustAnEngineer wrote:If the Browns go 0-16, we are going to have a big discussion about how terrible they have been this season. It has been over a year since they have won a game, and that includes the preseason. That's right, if you include the preseason record (most don't for good reason), the Browns are currently 0-18, with a shot at 0-20.Here's a commemorative jersey for Cleveland Browns fans:

Jeff Fisher's new job?Gus Bradley has been a dead man walking for months. The axe finally fell today.

The Buccaneers did not win tonight, so the Panthers and Saints still have some mathematical hopes, but things are looking quite grim with the Packers, Buccaneers, and even the Vikings ahead of them. The playoff picture has come into focus.

In week 15, the San Diego Chargers (5-9), Cincinnati Bengals (5-8-1), Philadelphia Eagles (5-9) and Arizona Cardinals (5-8-1) became the seventh through tenth teams eliminated from playoff contention. If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Dallas Cowboys tonight, the Carolina Panthers (5-8) and New Orleans Saints (6-8) will also be eliminated.
The New England Patriots (12-2) clinched the AFC East title and a first round bye. The Oakland Raiders (11-3) clinched a playoff spot.
superjawes wrote:One big story ought to be Brock Osweiler getting benched early. Tom Savage, who has a GREAT name, by the way, rallied to lead the Texans to a victory. Not great for my Colts, but a big laugh for me while the Texans continue to be the weakest division leader in the NFL.
JustAnEngineer wrote:So, when John Elway refused to beat the Texan's $72,000,000 ($37 million guaranteed) offer to Brock Osweiler, was he just smarter than Rick Smith?
Would Osweiler's QB play be better if J.J. Watt were healthy?
Tom Savage played well enough to come back and win the game, and they paid him only $0.30 million guaranteed.

That isn't official yet
JustAnEngineer wrote:Let's be bold and predict that the 0-14 Cleveland Browns will upset the 5-9 Los Angeles Chargers on Christmas Eve, ending their perfect losing season. The Chargers are currently a six point favorite. Oddsmakers have the Browns as 2¼:1 underdogs straight up (+225 on the money line). If the Browns don't get their Christmas miracle win at home against the Chargers, they would be even less likely to get a win at Heinz Field on New Year's Day.
superjawes wrote:Cleveland's last realistic chance at a 2016 win will be against the Chargers, but I think that's unlikely.

No, no. You shouldn't have even made this update.

It's still the NFL's 2016 season until Super Bowl 51
Also, coaching fallout is 99.9% seated in 2016.
