I love seeing the sports media choke on its nonstop Duke fellatio. Thank you UNC for shutting the "experts" up, but tomorrow I gotta root for my Wahoos all the way!

I don't feel too good right now.

I knew it had to happen, sooner or later. I always hoped I would see it in my lifetime.

But... not my state school.... not during their best season ever. I got nothing.

1 Samuel 17: A champion named Goliath, who was from Virginia, came out of the Atlantic Coast camp. He was over nine feet tall....Now David... was from Maryland - Baltimore County in America East.... Then he... chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd's bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.....As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine... The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.

They weren't just behind when time ran out either. They got fully rekt by UMBC. I don't really have anything against Virginia, but it was fun to watch. Especially since ALL the talk was about Penn beating Kansas (my alma mater) which ended poorly for Penn.

I was simultaneously distraught and awe-stricken. They beat UVA by playing UVA ball. Ferocious defense and excellent ball-rotation offense. Hitting 15 3-pointers didn't hurt either.

Honestly, I hope they weren't a one-hit wonder. I'm not a sore loser, and I have no further stake in the tourney (except for public enemy #1 Dook to be defeated). I'm rooting for UMBC now, full-stop. I'd be perfectly happy for them to stay hot for 5 more games and cut the nets down.

I'm definitely rooting for them now too. AT least until they play KU that is. They even play a Kansas team next round!

Even with this carnage there's still one 187-point bracket out there on Yahoo. At least mine was aptly named.

Most brackets are catastrophically broken at this point.
https://www.cbssports.com/collegebasket ... ewable_men

Instead of four each 1, 2, 3 and 4 seeds in the sweet sixteen, we have:
1 Villanova and Kansas
2 Purdue and Duke
3 Texas Tech and Michigan
4 Gonzaga
5 West Virginia, Clemson and Kentucky
7 Texas A&M and Nevada
9 Florida State and Kansas State
11 Syracuse and Loyola-Chicago

Peter picked three of the final four correctly, but if Villanova wins the championship, I will triumph.

It's a good day for me. My alma mater (KU) is in the Final Four, my bracket is in the top 25K at ESPN (99.8 percentile), and I got 3 of the 4 Final Four teams still alive in mine. Also, it's super fun watching the Ramblers play and I'm quite excited for next weekend.

Loyola-Chicago vs Michigan
Villanova vs Kansas

Gonna be an epic Final Four, even though I think Michigan is gonna win by 10 or more. Loyola may well prove me wrong, but they haven't faced a true "powerhouse" team yet. And Michigan is hot right now. But I will root for the underdog all the same! :D

Anyone else get chills last night of how similar that game was to Kansas/Memphis in 2008?

Championship game I'd like to see: Loyola vs Kansas.

Championship game I expect to see: Michigan vs Villanova

Here's hoping for 6 more (can't forget the ladies!) well-played, well-officiated ball games to bring the Madness to a close!

I actually turned off UConn/Notre Dame in regulation. Down 3, seconds left, and ND ball, I thought it was a done deal. THEN I wake up the next morning and saw that I had missed a classic ending.

...it was a classic, that was, until the championship game. When Ogunbowale hit that off-balance shot I jumped out of my chair. Like you said.. INSANE.
