Put 20 of these on the grid. Then it will really be the Driver's Championship.

Are there any new drivers to keep an eye on? Or is F1 still so top-heavy, that even great drivers don't stand a chance if the car isn't fast or reliable enough? I feel like it's going to McLaren and Ferrai finishing 1 or 2 for the next 50 years...

I hope that's just a brain fart and you mean Mercedes and not McLaren!

McLaren? Good grief. Are you from the past?

McLaren fell to the back of the grid in 2015 and have yet to recover.

Teams with a title shot in 2019:

• Mercedes
• Ferrari
• Red Bull

Driver to watch:

• Charles Leclerc

I'm surprised Bottas is that low, below LeClerc. All it would take is Hamilton to have a nasty accident in testing or at the first Grand Prix that puts him out for a few months and then Bottas would be Mercedes No1 and with the way they have gone in previous years, it's hard not to see them as Championship winners this year.

Something similar happened with Schumacher in 1999 at the British Grand Prix. Rear brake failure meant he went in to the barriers and broke his leg, he missed the next 6 races. Eddie Irvine ended up missing out on the Championship by only 2 points.

Here are a few of the less-publicized rule changes for 2019. Some of them make entirely too much sense to have come from a committee.

The drama at Williams continues.

It may be that Jacques Villenueve was more of a realist than we thought when he pronounced the team "dead" last July.

There's sandbagging, and there's epic sandbagging, and then there's Lewis Hamilton talking BS about how slow his Mercedes is.

I have to say that the Ferrari looks like so much of a smoother ride. The Merc may be fast but it looks particularly brutal - I don't think Hamilton or Bottas will have any problems with kidney stones! I think that this is what a lot of people were basing their estimates of performance on. The Ferrari is just so much more planted and a much calmer car, but somehow or other the Merc is faster.
