UFC Fight Night 13 - April 2, 2008

Tue Apr 01, 2008 10:18 am

I know there are some MMA fans around here (pete_roth to name one), so I thought it would be a good time to discuss the fights tomorrow. Tomorrow night is a treat since UFC Fight Night 13 is going to be three hours of ground and pound goodness, instead of the usual two hours. I'm pretty excited, though not as excited as I am for Serra vs. St. Pierre 2 at UFC 83 which is two weeks from Saturday (April 19).

Sadly, my cable company doesn't carry Spike in HD, but that won't stop me from watching it. However, I will kill somebody if Cox decides (for whatever **** up reason) not to show UFC 83 in HD. That happened not too long ago, and to say that I was livid is a huge understatement.

Here’s the card for the televised fights, with my picks in bold.

Main Card
Lightweight bout: Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon
Welterweight bout Karo Parisyan vs. Thiago Alves
Light heavyweight bout: Matt Hamill vs. Tim Boetsch
Lightweight bout: Nathan Diaz vs. Kurt Pellegrino
Lightweight bout: Frank Edgar vs. Gray Maynard (swing bout; may not be televised)
Light heavyweight bout: Houston Alexander vs. James Irvin

Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work, you can always hit them with it.
