I'm thinking he'll make it until at least March. Dunno, it's just a matter of time (as the poll suggests).

Very fancy cheese you picked there, Cap'n.

i picked Wensleydale because while Goodell seems to be a bigger disciplinarnian than Tagliabue, he's no Kenesaw Mountain Landis. It takes brass balls and an airtight case (not to mention a weak union) to suspend someone for life and unless he does something monumental, I don't think he'll get a lifetime ban.

Put it this way: if somehow Rae Carruth got out, would they stop him from playing?

Goodell's discipline is so sporadic and hard to predict, and he seems to come down on certain players harder than others for the same reasons, that I think he'll really get the axe.

When they stop making fist loads of cash off them. They don't care about the game, the fans, or the players. All they care about is the money.

I'm betting he's going to fine both Crowder and Light for the fight, just like he fined both guys in the cincy/jax fight despite the one guy being attacked from behind, having his helmet ripped off and his eyes gouged... because he threw a punch to DEFEND HIMSELF. I applaud Goodell for somethings, but others make you go 'WTF?'

"not caring about the fans" implies that fans quit going to games and quit watching it on TV yet they allow these behavior problems to happen anyway. We all know that neither is true. Enough people eat this stuff up for them to not care about his personal issues.

No, they don't care about the fans, they care about the fans money. That's what I meant. Hence the...

I can sum it up in two lists...

Things they care about:
1) Making money

Things they don't care about:
1) Everything else (as long as it doesn't affect them making money)

Hell, they would have a gay, one armed, child molesting, mutant rodeo clown that lives in a van down by the river as a star quarterback if it made them more money. The only reason they take any action is because they think it will hurt their bottom line.

No, he played for Pittsburgh. His name was Cordell Stewart.

After the season when he thinks everyone no longer cares.

The NFL punishment system right now is a joke. While I fully support fining those who fight, off the field issues, etc, the policy currently with the ridiculous roughing the passer type fines really annoys.

Not to mention the fact that he admitted to having bi-sexual relationships. :o

I regularly run in the park he got caught in. At least once a week. I have yet to find a secluded enough place anywhere you can park a car to do what was alleged.

So if Vick gets out and is reinstated, and if Plax ends up going to jail and eventually gets out and is reinstated, how the hell can Jones get banned for life? Of the three people I just mentioned, The PacMan is the only one who hasn't been convicted of anything (yet).

I'm just so annoyed that ESPN is debating the possibility of Vick's reinstatement after he gets out in another year, and I'm equally annoyed that they're also only talking about the possibility that Plax is out as a Giant, and not out as a player for any sort of suspension. The NFL has *no* discipline policy because what discipline they give out is so completely out of whack it's not even funny.

side note: Cordell Stewart? eww. Somehow I missed all that.

Looks like I might need to accelerate my schedule for his lifetime ban - he's about to have a bit more free time.

It's not a lifetime ban, but it might be one step closer.

All the more reason to believe that when Goodell hands down the perma-ban, PacMan will be wearing the black & silver of the Raiders.
