I went 9-7 last week, so overall I am now 20-12. Not bad since last weekend was a head-scratcher for some games. My poll this week will be on WR's since we had some really high offensive games last week - Houston vs. Washington comes to mind.

Lets get those player lineups adjusted and hopefully everyone in the leagues will vote for who they think will win in the match-ups.

Tennessee @ NYG - I know Tuck is hurt, but after that beating from the Colts last week. . . . . .
Detroit @ Minnesota - One can dream can't he?
Cleveland @ Baltimore - Defense people!!!!
Cinci @ Carolina - Ever wonder how a cat fight would turn out????
Dallas @ Houston - Texans are on a high.
Washington @ St. Louis - Pigs should win this. . . . I hope. . . . . for McNabb's sake.
Philly @ Jacksonville - Vick for president!!!! (and I don't even like Vick)
San Diego @ Seattle - Seahawks suck.
Oakville @ Arizona - Suckfest 2010!!!
Indy @ Denver - Should be a good game.

I'm pissed because I'm one of the few markets that gets treated to Oakand/Arizona instead of Indy/Denver... Here's to hoping the Oakland game is blacked out...

the Bills have a pretty good secondary but very poor linebacker coverage. My guess is Welker is the more common target since he'll be wide open with room to run.

This is not a sarcastic question - You think the Pats can get as far as they do without Welker? He seems to be the go-to man, especially when the secondary is good and the front line is pressuring Brady.

Welker is great, maybe the best possession receiver. However Moss is one of the best deep threats ever. His ability to stretch the field is a bit hard to quantify but is immense. I think the Patriot's passing game would be fine without Moss, but Mediocre without Wellker. Moss is a deep threat when you can keep people off of him (no double teaming because they're worried about Welker and the amount of yards he can pick up after a catch). I'm not trying to to downplay Brady nor Moss, but without Welker that team is just above average - no run game at all. Can you imagine what would happen in Indy if Welker was Peyton's slot/slant receiver?

I think you're giving to much credit to the value a slot receiver can bring. Welker may be the best slot receiver ever but that still doesn't make him in the same consideration for a top 5 receiver ever, which I would agree Moss is in that consideration. There's a reason why Revis covers Moss and not Welker, the slot receiver possessions are going to happen because of positioning. The demand of the receiver in that position is not as high as a wide out. If Moss wasn't with the Patriots Welker's possessions may go up but the Patriots wouldn't score nearly as much. They wouldn't have a way to stretch the field and Welker would just get short gains all day. Put another way I feel Moss could play Welker's role any day, but Welker couldn't play where and how Moss plays. Then just for the Patriots I think Julian Edelman could do 75% of what Welker does but no one on the Patriots can do 60% of what Moss does.

I'm not trying to diminish how good Welker is, but the position on the field he players just doesn't have the importance that Moss does.

How about some more Vick-Maclin TDs for my fantasy team?

There's just nothing about Tampa that scares me. They are 2-0 against the browns and the very mediocre panthers. Sure, they could win, but even without our offense our D is scary good right now. Gotta take my boys in this one. Other picks:

Kansas over a very over-hyped, overly vanilla San Fran
New England Brady's over the Buffalo whatcha-callits.
New Orlean's superior firepower over the falcons
Tennessee normally, but taking NYG after both Titans QB stunk and are going to play timid this week
Detroit (upset? Hardly the way Farve is playing, nonetheless, my upset of the week)
Baltimore Flacco gets back on track against a bad cleveland team
Cinci's benson has a field day
Houston goes deep all day
Washington in a snoozer
Philly - Vick was on fire last week, full of confidence
Oakland (Arizona is terrible without warner)
Indy in a close one
Miami - chad has been pretty impressive so far.

Kevin Kolb is never going to get his job back. Vick has made himself millions. Keep in mind, however, that Jacksonville has one of the worst pass defenses in the league.

EDIT: I wanted to add that I do want Michael Vick to succeed. I like stories of redemption and people making good on second chances. I think Vick is easily a starting QB in the league. But I also feel for Kolb. I think Kolb is also a worthy QB and it might severally hurt his career because he got injured and Vick should have been doing this on another team.

I too feel bad for Kolb, ESP since I'm an eagles fan that wants him to succeed. However, i will say that seeing him on the sidelines, cheering for Vick, shouting words of encouragement ( after the first td throw, he was seen mouthing "way to go mike!" ), smiling, and generally looking happy for e entire team, and not just a bummed out jerk on the bench like ladanian Tomlinson was after he got hurt, or mcnabb after he was benched.


Its a good dilemma to have. No matter what, Vick is gone after this season. He either does really well all year and goes elsewhere to make a billion dollars, or he fails immensely, which leaves no reason for the eagles to sign him.

It's the same situation that got Brady his starting position when Bledsoe got hurt.

In a way, but Vick is older than Kolb and Bledsoe never had any troubles with the law.

No, I didn't. Most of those players don't really show on the radar on a normal basis - especially their QB counter parts. The ones I listed were part of last year's and the beginning of this year's dynamic duos. Roy Williams actually playing like they're paying him to? Who is Lance Moore? Austin Collie . . . . . .on that roster? Anquan Boldin and Joe Flacco . . . really . .. . a dynamic duo for an entire season? Did anyone really know that Vick would be the starter now? - I sure didn't . . . . and throwing the ball to boot?

I'm not a football junkie and follow every thing that's said and done in the NFL, but I call a fluke on 6 of the 8 players on that list.
