Preseason games started today, so I shook the dust off last year's league and reconstituted it as [TR] Hot Stove. Those who were in last year will be getting an invite through Yahoo. Those who might want to join need this:

OK, have six signed up at the present. From here on I'd like to take teams by twos up to 12 to make sure we've got an even number of teams.

Now have 7 and need an even number. Draft is 9 days away, so if someone wants in, now's the time to let me know.

At this point, since draft is 5 days from now, I'm open to taking more, but only in pairs. If you want in, find a friend and PM me. I've set max teams at 8 for now so a single can't slide in, but I'm happy to open it up for a pair of teams.

Of course, one of the easiest ways to find a pairing would be to post in this thread. so if anybody is on the fence or is interested but can't find a second interested party IRL, post away.

Ten teams! We aren't going to have the abundance of riches we've had the past couple of years with not quite so many good players to go around.

Is the "standings" as they're listed at the moment also the draft order? I should know this, but I don't think I've ever looked at that page before the season started.

Nope. Draft order is "randomized" by Yahoo about 30 minutes pre-draft.

Thanks, that's what I thought, but seeing the "standings" made me wonder if I'd been missing something all these years.

BTW, "Call Me Mabry" is hilarious. I'm going to have to up my game. Too bad Eric Gagne isn't still a thing, because "Gagne Style" would've been perfect.

Find someone else to join with you and it's a done deal. Too close to draft time to have an odd number of teams, because if there's one thing Yahoo's fantasy apps don't like, it's odd numbers.

That was my wife's idea. I wish I'd come up with it on my own, but she's good. Too good, IMO.

it's also got a tenuous grip on reality. If it wasn't for the Cardinals hiring him as an assistant hitting coach it'd be totally out of style.

Did the prognosis on Mark Texiera change at some point? I thought sure I read somewhere mid-april, now I read late May, early June? Dammit Mark, suck it up, tape it up and get out there!!

I think the original prognosis was crazy to begin with. Wrist injuries are constantly hard to return from. The fact that he can just now take the brace off means that an April return was never realistic.

I have to apologize for missing the draft. I was even sitting at my computer. My alma mater was in the NCAA tourney and had a game. I was planning on doing the draft while I was sitting there watching and the game was just too frustrating. Sorry doods.

That said, Chris Davis is owning.
