Phishing PMs

Thu Nov 12, 2015 11:30 pm

It has been brought to my attention that there have recently been some phishing attempts sent to forum members via PM. I'm assuming that these were sent in an attempt to steal users' forum login credentials and/or other personal information, and/or to convince users to click through to a malicious site. The account from which the PMs were sent has been banned, but that doesn't mean someone won't try something similar again.

If you receive a PM that claims to be regarding the status of your TR account, and that PM does not come from TR staff or one of the forum moderators/admins, please notify us immediately so we can take appropriate action.

And, as always, practice "Safe Internet" -- keep your PC up-to-date on security patches, and be wary of clicking random links!
