I would think that in an alternative universe, it could persist as a member-support forum e.g. like castboolits.gunloads .com or the like. But then perhaps TR isn't sufficiently different from other tech forums for TR to have the critical mass for such a financial structure.

Things were heading down long before Corona hit. By the time Corona shut everything down, TR already did not have any staff left (nor the budget) to send representatives to industry events.

Considering the capacities of the latest processors and technology, that might be a wise take.

Hey that hothardware link article feels more like Techreport system guide article.

I hadn't visited in a couple of years, and talk about a shock to the system! Had to hit Wikipedia to get the lowdown.

Good to see some of the old familiar names in the last page, though.

It's seriously dwindling. Half of the almost no forum activity is new users/bots trying to build up post counts.

At least the forums are still recognisable, even if the frontpage isn't any more.

I have a servere case of nostalgia if I notice how The Tech Report changed.
For years all computers I've bought have been based on information I got here about processors and motherboards and other hardware, but that's all gone now.

So sad to see the fade away. Thanks, guys, for all the help you've given me in the past
