Ryzen, MSI X370, Corsair Vengeance Build

Wed Jun 21, 2017 12:01 am

Hi.

I'm annoyed. I recently purchased a new egg combo containing the three items from the topic Ryzen 1600, MSI X370 and Corsair Vengeance LPXDDR4.

After I got the combo I could not get it to post or boot.

I have tried a variety of items trying to get this combo to boot.

2xSeasonic MII PSUs ( I'm lysdexic!)
3xNvidia GPUs (285, 570 and 970)
Ram Dual in both slots, single in all slots - and no ram at all.

I've never gotten it to post or even toss/beep post error codes at me.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Motherboard RMA (or try another CPU if you have one, but I figured that was unlikely).

Does CPU fan spin up??
If absolutely nothing-possibly front case power switch-could try screwdriver across pins(very carefully-at own risk)
EDIT
Does PSU fan spin up?(have had a faulty wall to PSU cable in the past)

I would also start with a mobo swap.

Also, MSI's B350 Tomahawk had insanely slow POST times when I owned it. Like 45 seconds or more.

You could have a board that needs a BIOS update. Kind of hard to do without a Ryzen 7 CPU though.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Check the CPU socket for bent pins?

Does ANY signs of power occur? Fans spinning possibly?

Ultimately I just gave up.

The mobo would power on, fans (CPU, GPU), and LED lights on the motherboard all came up. Nothing I tried made a difference, between swapping ram from 0, 1, or 2 pieces into all the slots, 285, 570 and 970 Nvidia GPUs, to none - never got a post error beep.

I forced newegg into RMA'ing all parts. I suppose my tolerance for stuff not working is a lot lower than it was in the years past.

Thanks again for all your suggestions.
