Upgrading NAS server, would a Pico work?

Wed Jul 04, 2018 12:21 pm

I currently have a "small" box server using a Core i3-2100 CPU and 4GB RAM. I would really like to replace it with something smaller and quieter. I was looking at Zotac's ZBOX Pico line, specifically the PI336 https://www.anandtech.com/show/12318/zo ... i226-pi336

I particularly liked this one because it has USB 3 and gigabit ethernet.

The server primarily use is a NAS running mythTV. We stream video via DLNA and record video from a HDHomeRun. Would the Pico be up to the challenge? Are there other mini, passive cooled systems out there that might be better?

Thanks for any input you might have!
