Insane amount of SSD storage. 5TB, I'm jelly!

I'm still using a Samsung 840 250GB as my boot drive, as well as an 840 Evo 250GB and a recently acquired MX500 1TB Sata SSDs mostly for games, with a couple of 2TB HDDs for the rest.

I hope you are rocking a nice 1440p 144+ Hz screen alongside the 9900k, 1080ti, and fast RAM! Enjoy that beast 8)

Is the rear fan an intake or exhaust? If it's an exhaust, don't you have slightly negative pressure (when accounting for exhaust from the PSU & slight from the GPU)?

How are CPU temps?

With the AIO in the front (blowing hot, restricted air into the case), how are GPU temps?

Nice build! In fact, such a good build, I built a very similar too. [email protected] (1.25v), RTX2080, AX1200i, 2x970evo 500gb, 3x120 custom loop, etc.

As for questions about pressure/heat, I may be able to add some info. My last case was a 850D, with tons of negative pressure (3 rad fans on top out, rear fan out, and a 2 fans in the case kinda recirculating, one the HD bays, the other the lower compartment up to the main). The 570 I have front and top fans (5x120) going in, with the rear fan out, creating positive pressure. Also went from top RAD mount (out) to front mount (in).

Temps are amazing on the 9900k, gaming in the 40-50c range, max temps when doing [email protected] (h264) is in the 70s, slightly lower than my delidded [email protected], but at a full 0.1v lower. Gpu temp went from about 55 to 58 playing the same game since I am pushing air down past the card instead of up, and the slightly warmer air temp coming from my radiator (RAD reads the same as room temp when testing with a laser thermometer).

I kinda wish I waited another 6 months and got an 8/8 9700k instead of a 6/12 8700k, but the $299 price still appears to be halfway decent. Oh well.

2019 should be the year I replace my Haswell and Ivy Bridge machines.

Navi or a GTX 1160 launch and comparitive reviews will dictate when I overhaul the HTPC (I'm looking for performance/Watt at 1080p)
Zen 2 will dictate whether I buy a 3000-series Ryzen or a 9700K

The Zen 2 engineering sample demo at CES beating a 9900K outright and since it was vastly more power-efficient whilst doing so indicates that it wasn't some crazy overclocking stunt. I mean, c'mon; Nobody is going to publicly demo a flagship product with a completely unreasonable overclock, ludicrious 2KW power draw, and industrial refrigeration hardware without mentioning it, are they?

Either way, I'm waiting until much later in the year for my hardware refreshes :(
Congratulations, you've noticed that this year's signature is based on outdated internet memes; CLICK HERE NOW to experience this unforgettable phenomenon. This sentence is just filler and as irrelevant as my signature.

That is a very nice rig, I finally am planning to upgrade my Ivy Bridge 3770k this year. Ive had this rig over 6 years now, and it is the longest I have ever kept a rig so far. The Ryzen 3k series has started calling me, and I am planning on a full upgrade when it comes out. I hope the R9 16/32 is true because that will be a huge upgrade from my current stuff, although threadripper is still an option too. At least it gives me plenty of time to stock away money for the upgrade, although waiting is the hardest part....

Yup. The Acer Predator XB271HU. I bought it way back in 2016 but I have no desire to upgrade to 4K. 2560x1440 is the perfect resolution for the 2080 Ti.

Rear and top are exhaust so you are probably right. :)

So...

...there is an unsightly internal USB cable visible in the photo. I ran out of motherboard USB ports for the fan controller. I bought an internal USB hub that I have yet to install (I got distracted by a new ESXi server and network upgrades). Once I get the fan controller up and running I hope to adjust the fans to ensure proper airflow (well that and get the case sides installed).

When I was planning the build I looked for info on that very subject. It appeared to me that the best option was to have the CPU cooler mounted at the front of the case. I reserve the right to be wrong. I also reserve the right to leave things as they are. :)

I just ran a completely unscientific test for temps using BF V on a 64 player multiplayer map @ 2560x1440 (G-Sync) with DXR @ ultra:

GPU @ 2085-2100 : 62°C
CPU @ 5.1: 65 °C

Peak temps taken from GPU-Z

Nice! I'm still on a 24" 120Hz TN from BENQ that I got in 2012, been wanting a 1440p IPS 144hz gsync for a while but can't justify the purchase for the amount I game these days.

I would argue that 2080 is the perfect GPU for 1440P gaming while 2080Ti is borderline overkill and creeping into 4K territory for now.

I see 95 FPS in Battlefield 5 (DXR @ ultra) when playing on a 64 player map @ 2560x1440. I'm not prepared to take a 30-50 FPS hit just to play at 4K.
