That's a heck of a build. What's the planned use for it?

Various uses:

- Primay use: To learn: OS/hardware/network experimentation in conjunction with my network/firewall/NAS
- web server
- media server (4K transcoding)
- VMs dedicated to various tasks

It was originally a late 2017 gaming rig which I built that, frankly, was not well thought out. I had planned on building a new Intel Xeon based ESXi server over the recent holidays but I was tempted to see how well a Threadripper build could handle ESXi. Everything worked perfectly (which, of itself, was a great learning experience).

It replaced a dual X5650 server that I built in 2010. The difference in storage performance between the two is just crazy. M.2 drives kick ass. :)
