Welcome to TR!
What CPU? I would consider 3000mhz almost a minimum in today's age. You can run it at that speed without overclocking the rest of the system.

Hey guys,
I'm putting together a new PC build around the new Nvidia 2080 Ti. Obviously a lot of money went into the GPU, but I want to make sure all other components are up to spec, to get the best results out of it. The intended use is a high-end gaming pc, running my monitor's 2560×1440 resolution at up to 144Hz.
I have some questions regarding RAM, and its speed. The kit recommended to me by the shop is included in the parts list below and has 2400MHz. However, I've been told I could benefit from a higher frequency RAM, such as 2666MHZ or even 3000+. Furthermore, I am not looking to overclock anything, hence the non-K CPU (I feel like I lack the knowledge required to mess with such stuff).
