(70368744177664) error on new build

Mon Dec 21, 2020 4:31 am

Hello all!

It's been a long while since a post, but I've recently build a new system but I am getting random crashes, with nothing in the event viewer apart from the error (70368744177664). I don't actually get a BSOD and if I disable automatic restarts it just freezes instead.

I have tried updating the motherboard bios with no luck as in the bios utility it doesn't recognise the file as a real bios (even though I've triple checked and made sure I have the wifi variant and it is FAT32 formatted) and the ASUS AI 3 windows program fails to load with the error 'the remote procedure call failed'

Specs are:
Ryzen 3600
Asus B550M-A Wifi
2 x Corsair Vengence 3200 8gb
WD Blue SN550 1TB SSD
Sapphire 5600xt
Corsair CV650

I've run Memtest with no errors and have done some gaming. It's been built for a week and only started crashing in the last 3 days. The frequency is sporadic and can be within a few minutes of boot or half hour+

Any ideas on this?

Drivers all up to date?

See if there is a mainboard update tool that will update the bios from inside windows. maybe that will work.

All Voltages ok? No over clocking right?

This has actually been fixed from finding this thread.

I narrowed it down to happening only when I was downloading games on Steam.

I had to tell windows how many core for booting and the issue has now gone... Very strange!

Seems like a really old bug. Which major version of Windows 10 are you running? Anything pre 19xx is supposedly out of support now.
The Model M is not for the faint of heart. You either like them or hate them.

I've only just this week gone made the boot file so it is build 19042

Glad I didn't need to start taking parts back!

Glad you got it fixed!

I always install latest version of windows 10, only install latest drivers, install latest versions of my software if possible.

I do this using:

1- windows 10 media creation tool.

2 - Driver booster

3 - Patch My PC

These are all free. There are many similar tools out there, but these are the ones I use.
