SBA Posting Guidelines Read Before Posting

Fri Jul 22, 2005 3:54 pm

1: Please provide a brief item description with any links that you post. Something as simple as this is good:
A64 X2 4200+ http://www.newegg.com/OldVersion/app/vi ... 547&DEPA=1
It saves a ton of time not having to click on the link to see what product is linked to. (Also, please say what socket you want to use. This causes alot of confusion from time to time)

2: Please state the intended usage of the system you're going to build (gaming/scientific/workstation graphics/etc.) or a combination of the above as it makes it much easier to recomend parts.

3: Check somewhere like http://www.resellerratings.com if it's your first purchase from a vendor. There is nothing worse than getting ripped off by some site that advertises a price that is too good to be true. Remember if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

4: Please state your budget to facilitate picking out parts to recomend.

5: Please keep all your questions about the same build in the same thread. There is no need to make a separate thread for each component.

6: Please state your location, and your preferred places to shop (ie Newegg, Australia, UK) that way we can know what currency we are working with and also what stuff might be available.

7: Please refrain from starting a thread to ask if part XYZ is a good part odds are there is already info on that part in the forums somewhere. The search tool is your friend.

8: If you are building a system ask for advice when you are almost ready to build. If you are building a system in three months ask us then. New parts come out and prices change almost daily. Parts that are a good deal today probably wont be in three months.
