New Conroe Rig

Well, since my mobo died, I was planning to maybe get a new setup. All I need is a mobo, processor, and 2 GB Memory, and overclock the computer with an fsb of 266 to 333. Unlike athlon 64s (stupid a64 mobo died ... i have stupid renewed hate for amd now ... for no solid reason). So, when you overclock the fsb of an intel board, there's no limit as with the AMDs, you had a limit of 1000 Mhz. So you could still have a literal fsb effective speed of 1333 Mhz?

And for building, I was planning to get an
E6600
A decent overclockable mobo with at least 2 SATA 3.0Gbs supporting NCQ
1 PCI Express x16 slot
No need for audio
2 or 3 PCI slots
4 USB ports
2 GBS of memory that can be overclocked

and I'm also wondering if my 7700AlCu Zalman heatsink will also fit?

Budget is probably 640 dollars to 750, or 800 at the most maximum. But preferred less than 700 dollars.

Yes, or 2000mhz if you OC 500mhz or 2400 for 550FSB :P

For 333FSB (1333) you might need 965 or 975X based boards. P965 boards can be had for like 90$ now. And the chipset OC extremely well. Just remember the issues about memory and voltage. Since P965 supports DDR2-800 and boots it first time at 1.8V.

But even with 700$ you should be able to get both highend board, good memory and the E6600.
