Must have:
i5-3570k
Full tower (with spot for water cooling)
Corsair H100 water cooling system
I prefer a tower that looks cool, but thats not a requirement.
Multi-Screen GPU would be bonus, but I really really dont care, I would only be using it for GW2 so its really not a big deal.
Go nuts guys n gals. This is for gaming.
PS:I will be overclocking the i5 to 4.5 MHz, maybe more.
OK so your budget is 1400/1.12= 1250 Candian Dollars, I will base it off my build and look for items on newegg.ca(in Canadian Dollars), ncix might be cheaper but I never used that site before.
Processor Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz
$235Memory G.Skill Ares F3-1600C8D-8GAB(2X4) 8G
$43.99 (16G is overkill for another 1-2 years)
Motherboard ASUS P8Z77-V LK
$128.99 after rebate
Graphics EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW
$414.99 Storage OCZ Vertex 4 256GBSSD
$219.99 Enclosure Define R4
$109.99 (Cooler Master Storm Enforcer might be cool looking to you, at any rate whehter a case looks cool to you is up to you, just don't overspend for full tower that you don't need)
DVD-RW LG Black SATA 24X DVD Burner
$17.99CPUFan COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO
$34.99 (you will have to give up a lot else where fit a full tower case(most of those are in the 150 and up range & H100 which is at least $110 in you budget, both not needed for how much you will OC).
PSU Rosewill Hive 650 W
$89.99Total:
$1201.92(rest goes to shipping etc)
This should be good enough to take you up to 4.5Ghz OC(everyone told me Hyper Evo is good enough for 4.5Ghz, H100 is for trying to get to 5 Ghz OC and is massively overkill for just 4.5Ghz+ requires larger cases to set up its massive radiator.) and FTW is enough gaming power for any game atm and a good value, not to mention blower type GPU works with Define R4 really well. There might be a few rebate I missed which means more saving for you.
I assume you have monitor, keyboard & mouse, if not you will have to buy a 1TB HDD and save about 100+ for those (I got SSD because it cuts down load/boot time for OS and games big time).
You could also wait for the GTX 660 release sometime this week, it will be a weaker(1.5G vram/less shaders)/cheaper(I say $250-230 range) in version of GTX670 or maybe an AMD card.
For reference :
http://techreport.com/articles.x/23204/6 Techreport's Editor's choice July build for 1.5K and no aftermarket cooler. or the Sweetspot ($1000ish) builds are good example to look at.
For reference, my build on a 2K Budget (in USD/newegg price), designed for BF3 at high/Ultra setting level and 120Hz :
