upgrading a acer desktop

hey guys,
so ive been meaning to upgrade for a while with bf4 coming out and everything but not sure what to do:/
heres the parts im getting so far

not sure if i have to get a new mother board if i do: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813157315
thats all so far and my budget is about 500$ thanks:)

Open up your desktop and take the picture of its insides so people will see which cards you can fit and which motherboard size will fit inside your case and see if a new power supply (which you also likely need) will fit inside your case.

Also, give us a model number for your "Acer desktop" and/or current system specs. Then we can start with the rest of the process.

Knowing what City/State/Country you live in helps too. If you live in the US, Microcenter offers the best deals on CPUs and mobos.

One issue I had with upgrading an Acer in past is that the motherboard mounts were not standard ATX.
you may have to order a new case. Just a heads up.

Could be BTX, grrr BTX

Page 11 of this document has mounting hole positions that you can use to check your setup.
